Cultural Day Celebration

Our school hosted an exciting Cultural Day on 24 January. It was a vibrant celebration filled with cultural performances, interactive games, and a delicious food fair. This event provided an opportunity for students to explore and appreciate the rich tapestry of cultures represented in our school community.

Engaging Cultural Performances

The cultural performances were a magnificent spectacle, featuring the energetic lion dance, captivating martial arts displays, graceful Chinese dance, and lively Ukulele and Chinese drum performances. Our students showed their remarkable talents with impressive energy, making interactions with fellow students. In the Game Show, our pupils participated enthusiastically to answer questions about Chinese culture, which highlighted their interest and knowledge. Another exhilarating event was the cultural costume show. Students proudly donned elegant traditional attire from their respective cultures and walked the runway in the hall. The best-dressed students were honored for their creativity and style, showcasing the beauty and diversity of cultural expressions.

Food Fair: A Culinary Journey

One of the highlights of the day was the food fair, where students had the chance to taste an array of snacks from eight different countries – China, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Each dish represented the unique flavors and culinary traditions of these cultures, allowing students to embark on a delightful culinary journey. The food fair not only tickled taste buds but also promoted an appreciation for the diverse backgrounds of our peers.

Interactive Game Booths

The day was filled with fun at the Chinese cultural game booths, where students engaged in various activities, including “Chinese Culture Shooting Games”, “Zodiac Order Game”, “Chinese Word Chain”, “Snake Shape Puzzle”, “Chinese New Year Treasure Hunt”, “Wishing Placard”, “Hit the Goal” and “Ring Toss Game”. These interactive games not only entertained but also served as a delightful way for students to learn about Chinese culture in an engaging manner.

A Successful Celebration

Cultural Day was a huge success, celebrating the achievements of our students while nurturing students’ appreciation towards Chinese culture. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our parent volunteers and dedicated teachers for their hard work in setting up the food fair and making this event possible. Their support was instrumental in creating an enriching experience for everyone involved.

As we reflect on this wonderful day, we are reminded of the importance of cultural understanding and the joy of coming together as a diverse community. We look forward to more events that celebrate our unique backgrounds and shared experiences!
