Green School Picnic

Our green school picnic combined the concepts of environmental education and outdoor activities in a fun and engaging way. Such was the case when our students took part in the LCU annual school picnic on 27.11.2023.

P.1 Lady MacLehose Holiday Village                                                                                                                                                                              Our P.1 parents had a great bonding experience with their kids in Lady MacLehose Holiday Village. We arrived at the site and attend a briefing session to get familiar with campsite facilities. We then participated in two parent-child games, Rainbow Umbrella and Head and Shoulders, Knees and Candies. Everybody had a great time. Other than playing badminton, sport climbing, table tennis, seeing the nature, our parents took lovely pictures displaying love and family bonds to participate our parent-child photo taking competition.

P.2 – P.3 Tso Kung Tam Outdoor Recreation Centre                                                                                                                                                      Our P.2 and P.3 students went to Tso Kung Tam Outdoor Recreation Centre. We took class photos upon arrival. This was a well-facilitated campsite with seven stories. There were a children’s playground, a basketball machine, an air hockey game room, a table tennis room, an art and craft room, a roller skating rink, a pebble walking trail and an energy bike. Everyone was fully immersed in the fun games and green nature.

P.4 – P.6 Sai Kung Outdoor Recreation Centre                                                                                                                                                                  Our P.4 to P6 students went to Sai Kung Outdoor Recreation Centre. It is a government campsite with indoor rock climbing, an indoor badminton court, snooker, indoor football games, air hockey games, art and craft workshops, dancing classes, a basketball court, a children’s play area, roller skating and archery. Our PE teacher, Mr Lee prepared a ready-to-go bag with soft balls and skipping ropes. Our students spend a harmonious moment with schoolmates during the picnic lunch. Though the food was simple, they enjoyed the social connections, relaxation and flavors. School picnic serves as a platform to educate, inspire, and engage students in concerning sustainable environment while enjoying and appreciating nature.
